Melanie Honsinger, MSW, RSW
Melanie Honsinger is the Executive Director of Hospice West Parry Sound. She is a registered Social worker with a master’s degree from the University of Toronto.
She is an advocate for equitable access to quality hospice palliative care in Northern Ontario, and with 13 years experience, is a skilled clinician who specializes in bereavement counselling and helping individuals and families cope with the emotional, social, spiritual, and practical concerns that arise following a life-threatening diagnosis.
When not working at Hospice, Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan and their 3 young children, Aiden, Justin, and Kennedy on the lake.
Client Care and Development Coordinator
Jessica Caux, SSW, RSSW
Jessica Caux is the Client Care and Development Coordinator of Hospice West Parry Sound. She is a registered Social Service Worker with a diploma from Northern College of Applied Arts and technology.
Jessica found her passion within palliative care in 2014 when she joined the team primarily as a volunteer, then later as a placement student before obtaining her position as the Client Care and Development Coordinator. She utilizes a holistic strengths-based approach when supporting clients and their families and when facilitating bereavement and caregiver group therapy.
In her time outside of Hospice, Jess enjoys spending time in her community with her partner Mike, and their 3 children, Tracy, Cooper, And Bryce.
Heather Greer, SSW, RSSW
Heather joined our team as Program Facilitator after completing a 4 month student internship. Heather is a graduate of the Social Service Worker program from Northern College of Applied Arts And Technology, and has quickly become an instrumental part of our team and embodies the compassion and dedication needed to succeed in the field of Palliative care. Heather is also co-leader of our bereavement walking group.
When not working at Hospice, Heather enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with family.
